This collection contains biographical material, newspaper articles, bibliographies, examples of Sohl fiction. Gerald Allan “Jerry” Sohl was born in Los Angeles, California, on December 2, 1913. He married Jean Gordon in 1942; they had one son, Allan and two daughters, Marty and Jennifer.

He was in the Army Air Force during the Second World War. He worked as a feature writer for the Bloomington Daily Pantagraph from 1946 to 1958, when he returned to California for a career in literary writing, including science-fiction novels, several that were published by mainline publishers.


He was also a screenwriter for both film and television. Among his credits were numerous episodes for classic TV productions of The Twilight Zone, Star Trek and Route 66.

He retired in the early 1970s but continued to write and publish; his last work was published in 1999. Jerry Sohl died in Thousand Oaks, California on November 4, 2002.
