Join us to dedicate a new descriptive marker at the site of a previously unmarked Civil War memorial remnant in Bloomington's Briarwood subdivision. All are welcome to attend the roadside ceremony Tuesday, October 17, at 10:30 a.m., featuring speeches and a presentation by the American Legion Honor Guard set to include colors, taps, and a rifle salute. Street parking is available on Norbloom Avenue and Dawes Place. Please respect the area's neighbors and do not block driveways or mailboxes, park on lawns, or obstruct local traffic.

The new descriptive marker is the ninth refurbishment project completed by the McLean County Museum of History this year. It is part of a larger Historic Marker Matching Gift Initiative that started in November 2022.
