Futures in History Camp will take place June 24-28 2024 from 9 AM to 4 PM.

New this summer, the McLean County Museum of History is also hosting two Futures in History Mini-Camps: Adventurous Archaeologists and Curious Curators. Each camp will focus on a single topic and consist of two half-day sessions.

Futures in History: Adventurous Archaeologists

Come get your hands dirty and dig up some fun! During this Mini-Camp, participants will spend their first day learning about archaeology’s best practices and doing their own archaeological dig. On the second day, participants will learn how artifacts are studied after being found and how to find information within material culture.

Adventurous Archaeologists will take place Tuesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 18 from 8:30 AM to12:30 PM.

Futures in History: Curious Curators

Learn about museums from the professionals at the McLean County Museum of History! On day one, participants will get a behind the scenes look at our museum, collections, and galleries. On day two, participants will learn how to write an object label and create a display. The camp will finish with a very special Gallery Opening, designed by our campers and hosted at Hangar Art Gallery.

Curious Curators will take place Tuesday, July 23 and Thursday, July 25 from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

Registration is limited to 15 students per camp. Click here to register.
