Join us for another session of the Under the Dome Knit In on Saturday, August 20 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Museum’s Governor Fifer Courtroom. We welcome all knitters and crocheters to create charity items or work on their own projects.
This quarter’s feature charity is the “Knit Your Bit” campaign through the World War II Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana.Participants knit and crochet scarves for veterans around the country.The scarves collected are distributed by the World War II Museum and are given to local VA Centers and to veterans who visit the Museum on Veterans’ Day each year.Since this project started in 2006, over 50,000 scarves have been made for veterans nationwide.For more information about the “Knit Your Bit” campaign please visit http://www.nationalww2museum.org/learn/knit-your-bit/.
The Under the Dome Knit In is free and open to everyone. Light refreshments are served. Bring your own project or the materials to begin a new one, grab a friend, and come “knit for a bit!”
