YWCA Sexual Assault Awareness Month Clothesline Project

The McLean County Museum of History will be partnering with YWCA’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month for the 2018 week-long Clothesline Project display.

The Clothesline Project, started in 1990, is a vehicle for women affected by violence to express their stories by decorating a T-shirt. The shirts are then displayed on a clothesline to be viewed by others as testimony to their survival and the problem of violence against women. The shirts will be on display in the Museum’s Rotunda during the week of April 23-28 during regular hours (9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday).

Admission to the Museum during the week will be free to the public thanks to support from the organization NO MORE. NO MORE aims to raise public awareness and engagement around ending domestic violence and sexual assault. To learn more, visit nomore.org.
