COLLEGE LEVEL PROGRAMS
Architecture Walking Tour
Explore the built environment
in a fascinating one-hour tour of the downtown Bloomington area. Tours
are scheduled throughout the year and are contingent upon the weather.
History and
Diversity Mini-Seminar
How were ethnic and social diversity dealt with on the prairie?
Executive Director Greg Koos leads a discussion of material culture and
a tour of the research materials in our library and archives. A
packet of resource materials and worksheets for students is
provided. In the galleries, participants investigate the
diversity of McLean County by identifying characteristics of five
culture groups who settled here.
Museums as a
Teaching Resource-
Museums can offer a wealth
of information, activities, and inspiration for developing curriculum. Learn what resources are typically found in
museums, historical societies, and archives and how to apply these
sources to
your teaching. A lesson plan activity in
the galleries follows the discussion.
